Our predictions this week aren't terribly earth shattering. We have Missouri over Florida and UCLA over Stanford in slight upsets. USC/Notre Dame and Auburn/Texas A&M are one point toss-ups. The closest thing to an upset we're looking at is Minnesota over Northwestern by one. Of course this means we'll probably see tons of upsets!

Looking ahead, we're still predicting Oregon as the National Champs. A closer look at our rankings this week, Oregon shot all the way from 11 two weeks ago and 12 last week to 2 this week, by virtue of their demolition of Washington. Here's the updated top 10.

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Clemson
4. Florida State
5. Missouri
6. UCLA
7. Ohio State
8. Stanford
9. Georgia
10. Miami Florida

Compare us to the polls, and for a change, the voters have about half of their rankings correct!

In this week's biggest games, our predictions have Florida State, Ohio State, and the biggest surprise, Washington, defeating Maryland, Northwestern and Stanford, respectively. Last week we were 3-2 in our "feature" picks, including the East Carolina over North Carolina pick. UCF held up for most of the game but couldn't pull it out in the end.

Let's take a look at our rankings this week.

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Washington
4. Stanford
5. Georgia
6. Florida State
7. Oklahoma
8. UCLA
9. Virginia Tech
10. Louisville
11. Oregon

The first thing you'll notice is I included 11 teams, because it is interesting that at this point of the season, Oregon is all the way down at number 11. However, our predictions have Oregon winning the National Championship! The other things you may find odd are Washington all the way up to number 3 (hence our prediction that they'll beat Stanford this week), and Virginia Tech sitting at number 9. Obviously this is due to their only loss being against Alabama, and the computers can't tell how poorly they've looked, just the fact that they win.

This week's predictions feature a close win by Alabama over Ole Miss, UCF "upsetting" South Carolina, LSU and Ohio State over Georgia and Wisconsin in the feature games of the week and East Carolina over North Carolina in our upset of the week. If you're looking for guaranteed wins via point spreads, look no further than Oregon over Cal and Miami throttling USF, by margins of 43 and 41 respectively.

Next week we'll start examining the Top 10, but you can always check out the full rankings for yourself. We'll also delve deeper into the postseason results, but for now we'll just mention that we still have Oregon winning it all!

We had some interesting results this week. While the overall prediction rates were pretty average, a deeper look shows some fascinating predictions. UCLA versus New Mexico State had a predicted score of 64-12, while the actual result was 59-13. LSU/Auburn was predicted as 31-27, with an actual score of 35-21...and if you watched the game, Auburn could have easily had another score. Louisiana Lafayette at Akron was predicted to be 31-28, and the actual score was 35-30. There are several other close calls such as Purdue/Wisconsin and Arkansas/Rutgers (which we had as a one point Arkansas victory instead of the actual 4 point Rutgers win). We had 19 scores predicted within 3 points of the actual team's score. We also predicted Marshall and Utah State over Virginia Tech and USC, respectively, which should have happened in reality.

Last week was pretty much a disaster for us. There is an issue we need to work out with the early season predictions. Using the week 1 to week 2 algorithm only resulted in less than a 40% success rate, while the preseason to week 2 algorithm gave an 85% accurate rate! Week 3 is our last week that typically has issues so we won't bother analyzing this week's predictions. The next couple of weeks will give us more to talk about though! Be sure to follow us on Twitter for updates throughout the weekend!

Our first week was a respectable 77% accurate for predictions. However, we didn't pick any of the big FCS over FBS upsets.

This week's predictions (http://football.loudsound.org/2013/predictive/complete/1/scores/2) feature Florida over Miami, Oklahoma beating West Virginia, Notre Dame edging Michigan, and in the upset special, Southern Miss over Nebraska!

The National Championship is currently predicted to have Oregon slipping by Stanford in a conference rematch, for a Stanford team with 2 losses...the other being to a UCLA team with 2 losses, both to Oregon! It would definitely be the perfect way to end the BCS era if it stood up!
